Sortie en Août 1994 juste après Legends, cette extension à bords noirs comporte 119 Cartes (78 Uncos et 41 Communes) son symbole est un croissant de Lune et les cartes ont été imprimées à 75 million d'exemplaires en Bord Noir. The Dark était vendue boosters de 8 cartes (2 uncos, 6 communes) par boites de 60.
Les Cartes Connues sont Blood Moon, Fellwar Stone, Maze of Ith

La guerre entre Urza et Mishra a en partie détruit le monde de dominaria, le plongeant dans l'obscurité. C'est sur ce thème qu'est basée l'extension The dark.
The Dark n'a pas eu la même popularité que Legends, en particulier a cause de la taille du set (seulement 119 cartes). Les deux cartes les plus populaires de cette extension étaient Maze Of Ith, qui a vite été limitée par la DCI (et qui ne l'est plus aujourd'hui) et aussi Blood Moon, qui était une bonne solution contre les jeux bicolores (avec notamment les doubles terrains) et contre des cartes comme library of alexandria et Strip Mine
Cette extension s'est donc vendue moins rapidement que Legends, et les prix des boosters n'étaient pas aussi élevés.
